TWO pupils from King's Junior School took home gold medals after excellent performances at the Cambridgeshire Schools Athletics Championships.

12-year-old Sarah Foss, competing against athletes at least a year older, won the under-15 high jump, clearing 1m 35cm while 11-year-old Simon Kumar won the under-13 javelin with a throw of 24m 45cm.

There was also a silver medal for Lewis Carrier in the under-13 800 metres and bronze medals for Tatiana Allpress in the under-13 high jump,Oliver Saunders in the under-13 long jump, Gabriel Brennan in both the under-13 hurdles and 200metres and Sam Tonge in the under-15 shot.

Pupils from King's Senior School were also among the medals on the day with Isobel Leventhorpe winning silver in the under-15 javelin and Alicia Casey, David Scott and Max Hutchins in the under-20 3000 metres.
