EAST Anglian Kick Boxing and Boxing Club who train at Littleport Leisure Centre, held a charity fundraising event earlier this month and handed over 385.90 to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The members took part in various competitions throughout the day and, when not competing, they encouraged visitors to the centre to donate their cash towards the event.

EACH have a children’s hospice at Milton and were chosen to benefit by Littleport residents Mark and Amanda Dodman. They have experienced first hand the help and support given by EACH when their son Ross received care 10 years ago. Sadly Ross passed away aged six-months-old, but his family are still in touch with staff who cared for their son. They have raised funds over the years to ensure other families can benefit as they did.

EACH Fundraiser Karen Newton who received the cheque from Mark and Amanda along with members of the Kickboxing Club said: “I am delighted to receive this fantastic donation and to have the opportunity to meet some of the kick boxers personally. Tonight I have seen how dedicated they are to their sport, and I would like thank them on behalf of EACH for making time to support this local charity”
