PROMISING fly half Jack Lines has been selected to play for Northampton Saints' under-16s squad this season.
The 15 year-old student from Ely has been put through his paces in recent weeks and will join other players drawn from the East Midlands, Eastern Counties and Kent regions.
They will then compete against teams from various Premiership clubs including Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons, Leeds Tykes and The Ospreys.
Lines is part of an England Player Development Group recently established at the Saints' academy by the RFU to provide high-quality coaching and training facilities for elite players.
He will also be on duty at fly half next season for the King's School, Shelford Rugby Club and Eastern Counties.
Lines said: "I'm not sure how I'm going to fit it all in, particularly with GCSEs looming, but no doubt my games master at school, Kevin Shaw, will help me sort it out.
