MILDENHALL Town have announced two new additions to their squad for next season.

Matty Wright has joined from Diss Town, having previously been at Norwich City and Everton youth teams as well as Torquay United, where he made his first team debut against Chelsea at the age of 17.

The other signing is Marcus Hering, who has joined from Newmarket Town, having previously been at Cambridge City.

Mildenhall Manager Trevor Munns said: "I am delighted that both players have committed to Mildenhall Town.

"I have known Marcus for a number of years, especially during his time at Cambridge City, and have always admired his play, especially his defensive qualities.

"Matty has been at Diss for eight years, where he was also skipper, and has played at Kings Lynn for two years. He has always performed well against us and is strong defensively and very comfortable in possession.

"Matty and Marcus have looked very sharp in training and I am sure both will prove to be valuable assets to our squad. We are all looking forward to getting started and next Tuesday's opening friendly with Kings Lynn at Recway."

Mildenhall club Chairman Martin Tuck added: "I am very pleased with the excellent squad of players that Trevor has now assembled here at Recway and he must take great credit for the improvements shown in our team performances since he has been with our club.

"Last season was the best ever in the club's history, with us finishing in fifth position of The Ridgeons League Premier Division and getting through to the last 16 of The FA Vase.

"With the ongoing aims of our club being continued improvement and progression, we all will be striving to kick-on and do even better this season.
