A DOMINANT performance saw Simon Leeks win all three of the races he entered at Ely Sailing Club on Sunday.

The turnout was good with 13 boats and crews sailing in light winds that constantly changed direction and at times failed completely.

Leeks got off to a flying start of a chaotic first race while there was confusion at the other end of the line. Three boats were too eager and had to turn back and this further added to the chaos.

It was not so easy for Leeks in the second race and he needed assistance from the light and fluctuating wind to overtake Alex Tory. The wind died on Tory while he was leading and he could only watch as several boats just sailed past only a few meters away.

The most exciting finish was in the Enterprise class race. Winner Hugh and Robbie Marshall overtook Bob Utteridge with only a few metres to the finish.
