THE Isle of Ely Rowing Club's women's Nell Freeman and Libby Milne notched up another win at the Bedford Head race on Sunday.

Racing over the 2,000m course through the centre of Bedford, the under 14 pair competed against crews from Oundle Town, Bedford Modern and Bedford Rowing Club. Despite the opposition having the home advantage Freeman and Milne steered well and negotiated Bedford's bridges to finish the course in a time of eight minutes and 50 seconds. They beat Bedford Rowing Club by a sizeable 16 seconds, Oundle Town by one and half minutes and the Bedford Modern crew by more than two minutes. "We enjoyed the race," said Milne when collecting her winning trophy. "This course is very different to the one we're used to at Ely but this has been a great experience for us.
