‘If you don’t ask, you don’t get’ - Ambitious Soham boss eyes former Histon stars

AMBITIOUS boss Steve Fallon is hoping to tempt former Histon stars Matt Langston and Danny Naisbitt into joining his revolution at Soham Town Rangers.

Fallon, who guided the Greens to Ryman Division One North safety after taking over from Andy Furnell, has put in speculative approaches for the duo.

He has already enquired whether Naisbitt would consider dropping down three levels after the goalkeeper left Cambridge United.

Fallon said: “It was a little bit tongue in cheek but we know Danny and he’s keen to go part-time with his business.

“If nothing else comes up, I’m sure he’ll consider us.”

The Greens boss has also spoken to Langston, who famously scored the goal which saw Histon humble Leeds United in the 2008 FA Cup third round.

The centre-back has been injured but has agreed to come and train with the Greens in pre-season.

“He’s looking to give it a go,” said Fallon. “He could use us to get himself back to full fitness because, even if we’ve only got him for a couple of months, it would be a good signing.

“I think you’ve always got to leave your calling card with these players. We haven’t got a massive budget and it’s obviously got to be things other than just money that attract people to us.

“If you don’t ask you don’t get.”

Fallon said he was looking to bolster his squad with experienced players but also talented youngsters who could step up from the lower leagues.

He said: “We’ve got lots of irons in the fire - because you need to have lots of irons in the fire. Some will come off, some won’t.”
