Over 400 guests, alumni and donors gathered by the riverside on Saturday (December 3) for the opening of the new facility, which will be shared by the university, Women’s Boat Club and Lightweight Rowing Club.

Cambridge University vice-chancellor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz was on hand to cut the ribbon at the state-of-the-art boat house, which has been described as a “game-changer” by members of the club.

The university will hope that the new boat house, which has the words ‘This is where we prepare to win Boat Races’ emblazoned above its entrance, will help it to a second straight Boat Race win after their success this year.
