Ely Basketball Club had mixed fortunes in two matches at St Ives Sports Centre, on Saturday.
The first, against Nene Valley, proved a tough one for the Kings, who found themselves 9-4 down at end of the first quarter.
However, with some nice baskets from David Mullenger, Jordan Alexander and Henry Morais, Kings were back in the game by half-time.
Nene Valley took control in the second half and went on to win comfortably 46-24.
The Kings won their second match by default when their opponents, Cambridge Cougars, turned up with unsigned players.
