A hockey star from King’s Ely is celebrating after netting her first goal on the national stage.

Rebecca Daniel, senior student at King’s Ely, starred as England Under 16s beat the Ulster Under 17s on three separate occasions.

England triumphed 4-2, 5-0 and 1-0 at the Lilleshall National Sports and Conferencing Centre in Shropshire, with Rebecca finding the net in the second of those games.

Head of Hockey at King’s Ely Senior, Chanre Bond, said: “This is such a fantastic achievement for Rebecca.

“She absolutely loves the sport and has been rewarded for all the hard work she has put in throughout the past few years.

“I wish her all the best for the upcoming international matches.”
