THREE Haddenham punchers were victorious in a spectacular night's boxing on Saturday.

Jack Fraser, Tyler Goodjohn and Jessie Smith all won their contests when Haddenham ABC hosted their first Open Show of the season at the Arkenstall Centre.

Hard-hitting Fraser overpowered Chadd ABC's W Ahmed in a full-throttle senior 56kg bout.

Both fighters flew out off their corners and traded ferocious blows.

Ahmed attempted to capitalise on his height and reach advantage, but Fraser got in close and had his opponent against the ropes in the closing stages of the round.

Fraser dominated the second round and a quick combination of head shots followed by a stinging right hook saw Ahmed receive a standing eight count.

The Haddenham hitter then tried to finish his dazed opponent, who was saved by the bell.

Seconds after the start of the final round, Fraser launched Ahmed back into the ropes with a ferocious right hook and a four-punch left to right combination followed.

But the visitor somehow remained on his feet, throwing in some desperate shots before the final bell when Fraser won on a unanimous decision.

Goodjohn's junior 66kg contest with St Michaels ABC's Rob Smith was a battle of two national finalists.

A close match saw fan-favourite Goodjohn take the fight to his opponent. He lured Smith in before snapping back with hard rights.

Goodjohn landed a superb right hook in the second round, but the cunning Smith continued to score points and tangle up to disrupt Goodjohn's flow.

Smith edged the third round as Goodjohn became increasingly frustrated but a full-paced final round saw the visitor shaken by a stunning left hook and Goodjohn won on a majority decision.

A hearty performance saw Smith comfortably win a scrappy junior 52kg match with Chadwell and Corringham's Keiran Redding. Haddenham's Aaron Barrett fought well but narrowly lost to Fairbairn ABC's Adam Patel in a 40kg match.
