SOHAM Town Rangers have been hit by the news that star pair Glen Fuff and Shawn Richards have left the club.

Youngster Richards, who notched up three goals in his 10 appearances for the club, has moved back to the Northampton set-up while veteran Fuff has opted to join Steve Lomas' revolution at St Neots.

Boss Ian Benjamin, said: "I urged Shawn to rejoin Northampton to see if the club would make a decision on a professional contract for him in the coming weeks.

"He has been brilliant for the club and has really worked his socks off in all his games and I've said to him if things don't work out for him in Northampton then we would gladly welcome him back here.

"As for Glen he has decided to take up a player/coach role at St Neots just to have a look and see if he settles in. He has been a bit unsure about the move though, and has said that if he feels unhappy he will come back."

Despite the loss of two key players for the Greens, Benjamin believes that he has the ideal opportunity to give some of his younger players a chance to get first team experience,

"With the two lads having moved on it gives players like Will Seymour and Jordan Alexander the chance to get a run with the first team and gain some good experience, he said.

"We have a good youth setup and I think once some of the lads start to mature physically we will be able to bring a lot of them through.
