SOHAM manager Ian Benjamin is to stand down at the end of the season, the club have confirmed.

The Greens boss informed the club on Thursday that he would be calling time on his six-year managerial reign at the club.

In his time at the helm, Benjamin collected the 2006 Cambs Invitation Cup and 2007/08 Ridgeons League title, memorably sealing the title with a final day win over league rivals Needham Market at Julius Martin Lane.

For the last three seasons Benjamin, who took over at Soham following Kevin Pritchard’s depature, has guided the Greens in the Zameretto Division One Central, scoring 15th and 11th place finishes in 2008/09 and 2009/10 respectively.

The Greens remain on course to stay in the league this season, despite a tough campaign that has so far included 22 loses and just 10 wins.
