A SQUAD packed with nine new Fijian players soundly beat Ely's second string.

A scrappy game saw the hosts take an early lead.

Ely's Jules Thorn scored a try but Cantabrigians took control and were 26-5 up at the interval.

Tigers' forwards took control in the second half and two tries from substitute hooker Rick Neale and one from Pete Vousden put them right back in at 26-20.

But the hosts scored again late on to run out worthy winners.
