Soham Town Rangers kicked off their Ryman League Division One North campaign in disappointing fashion with a 2-0 loss at Great Wakering Rovers.
The hosts took the lead in the first half through Tom Ranger.
Soham came into the game more after the break but Billy Radley sealed the thee points with a goal at the death.
The Greens will look to bounce back when they host Waltham Abbey tomorrow night.
