Garfitt's life honour

ALAN Garfitt was offered life membership at Ely Sailing Club s annual meeting. Mr Garfitt was awarded the honour for his legal assistance and knowledge, after the club s change of landlord. This honour was also afforded to his wife Rosemary. Club trustee

ALAN Garfitt was offered life membership at Ely Sailing Club's annual meeting.

Mr Garfitt was awarded the honour for his legal assistance and knowledge, after the club's change of landlord. This honour was also afforded to his wife Rosemary.

Club trustee Roy Fernie, who died earlier this year, was replaced by Graham Tory, a past commodore of the club. Alayne Seymour was replaced as treasurer by Simon Loach. Alayne was presented with a bouquet by Alan White, with the grateful thanks of the club.

Also joining the general committee were Andrew Moore and Les Booth .

David Mills was also voted on to the committee but with the additional role of cadet officer.

Ely Sailing Club's Boxing Day races start at 11.30am.
