MORE than 300 competitors converged on the Ross Peers Sports Centre at the weekend for the return of the annual Soham Open.
Members of artistic roller skating clubs from all over the country turned out for the two-day event, with many of the country’s top dancers taking part.
Judges cast their eye over entrants, aged from just five up to about 35, who competed in a series of figure and free events.
Members of the Ely Artistic Roller Skating Club were also in attendance, looking to put a year’s worth of practice to good use at the club’s home event.
A spokesman for the Ross Peers Centre in Soham, said: “The event went brilliantly, we were very busy throughout. We had 241 competitors on the first day and 175 on the Sunday so it brought skaters in from all across the country.”
