WISBECH cmpleted the duble ver their lcal rivals with a win against a vastly imprved Ely side. Up until the strke f half time, bth sides battled fr pssessin t gain any advantage available and Wisbech were the first t prsper.

An attack n the blind side left the Ely defence flat fted and Wisbech scred a try that skipper Mark Laws cnverted with a minute f the half left.

Frm the start f the secnd half, Wisbech lifted their game. Centre Jacques Steynberg finished a mve created by a burst by Vickers t scre Wisbech's secnd. Laws was again successful t make the scre 14-0.

Wisbech's Craig Hrran scred the third try and Laws' successful cnversin extended the lead t 21-0.

Ely prduced a cnverted try f their wn with 10 minutes left t play. Wisbech respnded with an uncnverted try t leave the scre at 26-7.

THE Tigers visited Welwyn and started brightly, the first minutes being evenly matched with bth sides making errrs, but Welwyn fund themselves clse t the Tigers' line and with an verlap scred a simple try ut wide. The kick was missed.

As the half went n Welwyn began t get mre cntrl n the ball and scre tw mre tries befre half time, f which ne was cnverted fr a 17-0 lead.

The secnd half gt wrse fr the Tigers as Jel Sctt-Paul and Sean Humble retired hurt. Luke Crnwall replaced Jel and Alex Ferentins came nt the flank with Mark Egertn mving t the secnd rw. Mark Gude and Adam Shipp bth had fine games in the lse. But the scres kept cming fr Welwyn as, fr all the Tigers' effrts, they just culdn't keep the ball fr lng enugh t hurt their ppnents.
