FORDHAM II triumphed by 65 runs in a tense top of the table clash with Wimblington.
Invited to bat first, Fordham struggled early on until the introduction of Chamila Priyankara (56) and Ian Baldwin (94) who ensured the team powered on to 208-6 after a sensational 127-run partnership.
With runs to defend, Fordham's bowlers able to bowl with some confidence and, despite a spirited attempt at the win from the visitors, a three wicket haul from Phil Dean helped ensure they were bowled out for just 143.
There was no such joy for Fordham III meanwhile as they went down by three wickets at Burrough Green II.
Batting first, the visitors struggled to make much of an impact and, save for an excellent innings of 54 from Ryan Tripps, they were dismissed for just 119.
Though they threatened to steal victory after an excellent bowling performance led by Andy Barker (2-26) and Ian Woodbridge (2-28) it wasn't to be for Fordham.
