A DEPLETED Ely U11's performed superbly to beat an Eastern Counties Select team and then win both of their other matches on Saturday.

A HATTIE Ford hat-trick gave Ely a comfortable lead, but by half-time their opponents had pegged back to 3-3.

An enthralling second half saw Ford score again, but Ely soon found themselves 5-4 down with two minutes to go.

Nicola Hart scored her first goal for the club to bring the scores level and, straight from the restart, Rees Parfitt scored the winner.

IN their second game against the newest Eastern Counties League members, Ely raced into a 4-0 half-time lead with another Ford hat-trick and a Parfitt strike.

Ely used the opportunity to field some younger players in the second half and, another goal was scored by each team with Parfitt again on the scoresheet.

GOAL-MACHINE Ford scored her third hat-trick of the day and a Hart strike ensured that the game was won in the fast half.

This gave the coach another opportunity to give some of the youngsters yet more valuable experience.
