TOP Ely City defender Brady Stone is to leave the club to join up with the newly formed King's Lynn Town FC, the club have announced.

Stone, 24, who joined the Robins in 2006 after spells at Cambridge United and Cambridge City, will leave the Unwin Ground to join the Linnets who have reformed for 2010/11 and will be playing in the United Counties League.

The club's predecessor Kings Lynn, were forced to fold following a ruling by a High Court Judge last year. Former Wisbech Town boss Gary Setchell has been placed in charge of the new club and has been tasked with recruiting a whole new first and reserve team squad.

Ely boss Denis Lightning, told the Ely Standard: "Brady will be joining the King's Lynn revolution and he will go with our blessing. He has stayed with us for three or four years and helped us get to the position we are now and we thank him for that.

"The rest of the squad have said that they intend to re-sign for next season and I have been taking to two or three players about the possibility of joining also.
