LTFC 1906 moved above Fox Burwell into second place in Division 4A after a 6-3 win over bottom-of-the-table Alma FC Reserves.
Chris Wilson glanced home a header from 15 yards to open the scoring, and Chris Mitchell doubled the home advantage from
Wilson's pinpoint cross.
Mitchell then returned the compliment for Wilson to add a third, and Wilson then completed his hat-trick to make the interval score 4-0.
A deflected 50th-minute strike from substitute Jamie Pepper then put the result beyond doubt, but LTFC relaxed at that point and the visitors managed to reduce the deficit to 5-3.
But James Kent had the final word with the best goal of the game, firing an angled shot past the goalkeeper after a brilliant passing move by his team-mates.
Fox Burwell meanwhile may have waved their chances of a top-two finish goodbye after being held to a 2-2 draw by Prince of Wales Newmarket.
In Division 2A fourth-placed QPR Ely were beaten 4-3 by an almost unrecognisable Exning United Reserves side, despite goals from Colin Coulson, Jimmy Singh and Dean Salmons.
The same fate almost befell Division 3A leaders Village Inn in their match at Newmarket Albion Reserves, but they just managed to hold on by the odd goal in seven against a team they had thrashed 9-2 earlier in the season.
Goals from Mark Heading (2) and Mark Crowe (2) saw Village Inn lead 2-0 and 4-1 at various stages, but the hosts reduced the deficit to a single goal and the visitors endured a nervy last 10 minutes.
