BRITISH GAS SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE MIDLANDS
Rothwell Town 1 Soham Town Rangers 2
BOTH teams were looking for their first points of the campaign, and it was Rothwell who drew first blood when David Glass fired in a low shot from 25 yards.
Rangers nearly conceded a second goal when a 40-yard free-kick from Maddox thumped against the crossbar, and the hosts should then have scored again but Difante - left clear with only Lea Jordan to beat - hit his shot against the goalkeeper's legs.
At the start of the second half however, Soham struck their first ever goal in Step 4 football to equalise.
Darren Jimson found Kentoh Gray on the left, and Soham's man-of-the-match got to the bye-line before delivering a cross that Paul Jones side-footed home.
Gray himself went close soon afterwards, and Jimson was twice denied by the woodwork as Soham took control of the match.
At the other end Koriya headed over when well-placed, but in the 88th minute Rangers grabbed a dramatic winner.
They broke away following a wasted Rothwell corner, with Jones, Michael Simpson and Callum Kearns all involved in an end-to-end move which saw Gray released behind the home defence.
Soham's new boy then produced a low angled drive with his left foot that flew inside the 'keeper's near post to secure all three points.

SOHAM earned their second away victory of the week with another late goal in Saturday's match at Stourport.
They broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Martin Bromwich and Kentoh Gray combined down the left before finding Darren Jimson in the area.
The big striker then turned his man before floating the ball over the goalkeeper and inside the far post, thus marking his 50th club appearance with a goal.
The hosts equalised soon afterwards when Matt Smith looped a header beyond the reach of Jordan, but Smith - tall and dangerous in the air - squandered similar opportunities towards the end of the half.
Ballinger failed to get his shot away after working his way into Soham's box at the start of the second half, and the match was evenly balanced as both team continued to create chances.
Then with three minutes remaining, a long clearance from goalkeeper Jordan produced another late goal for the visitors.
Paul Jones outpaced the home defence and fired in a shot from the edge of the area which Evans parried.
Jones was quickest to the loose ball however, and from 10 yards drove it home at the near post despite the best efforts of covering defender McComiskey to stop the ball from crossing the line.
ON Saturday, Soham renew acquaintances with last season's Ridgeons Premier League runners-up Needham Market in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup.
Needham - who won their first 12 league matches last season - have started off in similar style this time around, winning their first three games.
