ELY City suffered their second defeat to Wisbech in less than a fortnight as Chris Bacon’s goal separated the sides at the Elgoods Fenland Stadium.

The Wisbech ace netted a few minutes short of half-time to give the hosts the upper hand and, despite a battling display from Ely in the second half, they were able to hold on to claim all three points.

The defeat leaves Ely in 13th place in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, with the visit of high-flying Walsham-le-Willows to come on Saturday.
