ELY Reserves' new management team have promised to take the side to new heights following the departure of former boss Martin Blakeley.

Dale Spring has been promoted to a joint managerial post in the wake of Blakeley's departure, and the former assistant is looking to freshen up the team for an assault on the league next year.

Spring said, "We are keen to rebuild the team after Martin's departure to Pymoor and we will certainly be looking to bring a few players in.

"But everyone in the team is going to get their chance to prove themselves, and all of the players will be starting with a clean slate."

Spring also revealed that he has received the backing of first team boss Denis Lightning as well as his assistant Alan Alsop, "Ive spoken to Denis and Alan about the role and they are happy to let some of the first team players come and play for us and give us every chance of pushing for promotion next season.

"As far as this season goes though, I am certain that staying up wont pose us a problem.
