Littleport Town made it two wins from two in Cambs NMC 1B with a dramatic late 2-1 win against Chatteris Town Reserves on Saturday.

Port’s goalscorers were Michael Emms and James Linney. David Turnbull grabbed the Lilies’ goal.

Manager Alan White said: “We were lucky to scrape a win in our first game against St Ives (3-2 win). A draw would have been a fair result. We had three chances and scored three goals.
“Chatteris had a young side who gave us a real test. At 1-1, on 75 minutes, our keeper produced a tremendous save. Then, we nicked a penalty at the end. I think the win was deserved.

“We’ve got March Reserves next, which will be a tough, physical encounter. We need to overcome that and play our football. If we can, I’m confident we can get the result.

“I’m delighted with two wins from two. We’ll be pushing for three from three.”

But it has been a difficult start to the season for Littleport Reserves in NMC 3B, who were unable to raise a team at Lakenheath Casuals on Saturday and are looking for a new manager.

The club tweeted “Manager needed again for Reserves NMC 3B. Someone who actually wants to develop players ideally.

Bring some players.”

In Kershaw Senior A, Richard Gammon, Paul Summerskill and Kandas Dougouno scored but Ely City Reserves were hammered 6-3 by Fulbourn Institute Reserves.

Soham Town Rangers Reserves were also on the wrong side of a drubbing - they lost 5-1 at Chatteris Town. Giovany Lopes got their goal.

The two sides meet at Julius Martin Lane tomorrow (Friday).

Also in Senior A, Soham United drew 1-1 at Paxton United.

In Kershaw Senior B, Burwell Swifts carried on their excellent start to the season - but it came at a cost.

Josep De Pfeiffer and Richard Chadwick scored in a 2-0 win at Bar Hill Saturday. However, De Pfeiffer, who has 13 goals in six games his campaign, ruptured a tendon in his foot.

Witchford 96 lost 5-1 at West Wratting Reserves.

Fordham were missing five players for their Cambs NMC 1B debut but still managed to earn a 1-1 draw at Huntingdon United.

Fordham had many chances but Richard Kent’s goal was enough to secure them a point.

In NMC 2B, Stephen Ball, Jonathan Cutter, Lewis Chambers and Craig Emson were on target in Little Downham Swifts’ 4-2 win over Brampton.

Goals from Nathan Feetham and Liam Hart gave Isleham United a 2-0 win at Wisbech St Mary A. Soham United were thumped 7-1 by Bar Hill Saturday Reserves.

George Rayner’s goal sealed Mepal Sports a 1-1 draw at Cottenham United Reserves.

In NMC 3B, Burwell Swifts Reserves were thrashed 9-1 by AFC Barley Mow.

In NMC 4B, Witchford 96 Reserves beat Isleham United Reserves 4-1, while Isleham Warriors won 2-1 at Fordham Reserves.

In NMC 5B, Burwell Tigers destroyed Manea United Reserves 9-0. Ben Reed (3), Ben Elliott (2), Jack Hindle-Smith (2), Liam Lewis and Stewart Anderson were on target.

Ely Crusaders Reserves won 3-1 at Needingworth United Reserves.
