A STUNNING performance from goalkeeper Lea Jordan helped Soham claim their 10th successive league win.

Jordan was called upon to save a penalty twice as Soham picked up an impressive 1-0 victory at Leiston.

The hosts started the game at a quick pace, earning two early free-kicks on the edge of the area; the first smashed straight into the wall and Jordan pulled off a fine save from the second.

And just after the hour-mark Leiston won their penalty for a Scott Carter handball. Jordan guessed correctly to save Lee McGlone's spot kick, but was penalised for coming off his line too soon.

Despite going to the opposite side with the re-take, McGlone was again denied by Jordan.

Five minutes before the break Soham took the lead against the run of play.

Darren Jimson and Andy Furnell linked well and in-form midfielder Aaron Turner fired a shot into the bottom corner.

And Jordan made a fine save with his legs in first-half injury time to ensure Soham retained their lead.

The Soham stopper then made a string of superb saves in the opening 15 minutes of the second period as the hosts piled on the pressure, and some good team defending saw Rangers to victory.
