A DEFLECTED shot from man-of-the-match Alex Brown paved the way for Crusaders during a much-improved display at Mepal.
Dynamic midfielder Sam Felton finished off a flowing move to make it 2-0 soon afterwards, and Lewis Hook made the interval score 3-1 after a surging run.
Brown then made it 4-1 direct from a corner, and defender George Leech grabbed a close-range fifth after Sam Scarborough's parried shot fell into his path.
Jeckells, Frodsham, Butler and Leech successfully nullified Mepal's attempts to get back into the game.
Soham United 0 Witchford 1
A SECOND half goal from Ryan Pettit was enough to earn Witchford all three points in this derby encounter.
Pettit had nodded a Ben Lymer cross wide in the first period, but made no mistake when another Lymer cross found him after good work by Adam Jay and Joe Leyland.
Witchford had chances to increase their lead, but were almost caught out themselves towards the finish as Soham hit the bar.
Ely Crusaders 8 Spartak '78 0
FINLAY Logan and Max Wright both grabbed hat-tricks and Alfie Green scored twice as Ely won this game in a canter.
Soham Town 2 Witchford 1
SOHAM came from a goal down to win a match played in terrible conditions.
Witchford led 1-0 at the break, but Kyle Allgood equalised for the hosts.
Soham then hit the woodwork twice before Kieran Fuller's header finally broke Witchford's resistance.
Stretham Sporting 3 Isleham United 7
HEAVY rain made this a tough encounter for both sides, but Isleham took the early initiative through Thomas Wade.
Sean Ward then finished off an accurate pass from Hanif Osman to make it 2-0 before Stretham responded to level the scores at 2-2.
Kieran Fitchett restored Isleham's lead within a minute of his introduction as substitute however, and James Van der Peer converted a second half penalty to make it 4-2.
Callum Wilkinson then scored from close range to increase the lead, and a brace from the tireless Aidan O'Brien took the visitors' tally to seven after Stretham had managed to pull another goal back.
Littleport Town 0 Milton 1
'PORT's unbeaten run came to an end in difficult conditions, but they were unlucky not to come away with at least a point.
The only goal of the game resulted from a second half corner kick.
NST Strikers 2 Ely City 3
ELY won their third game in a row thanks to goals from Martin Lindsay (2) and Frazer Jennings.
Finlay Thorburn's fine through ball enabled Jennings to open the scoring early on, but Lindsay restored Ely's advantage.
Jennings rattled the crossbar before NST made it 2-2, but a free-kick from man-of-the-match Ryan Ellwood saw Lindsay grab the winner with his eighth goal of the season.
Ely City 4 Brampton 1
ELY took an early lead when Callum Falconer's cross drifted into the net, and Josh Walder doubled the advantage from a Falconer pass in the second half.
Man-of-the-match Ed Dickinson provided excellent passes from the centre of midfield, and Sean Flack capped a determined display when he made it 4-1, an own goal having accounted for Ely's third goal of the game.
Haddenham Rovers U10s 3 - Bottisham U10s 3
HADDENHAM Rovers Colts Under 10's fought back from two down in a high quality match to earn a well deserved draw against a Bottisham team unbeaten in 18 games.
Bottisham took the lead and were two ahead after 15 minutes. Haddenham forced their way back into the match and scored when Joshua Akinwumi's superb run and cross was rifled home by Mattthew Wright. Akinwumi then set up Josh Lowe for Rovers' second. Bottisham re-took the lead with 10 minutes remaining when they bundled in from close range. Haddenham's Jake Alsop scored when his free-kick went in off a defender. Petty and Lowe both hit a post in the final minutes but the game finished in an entertaining draw.
