NEAL Docking has become the new assistant manager of Mildenhall Town Football Club.
Docking, who broke his leg in two places playing for the club in March, has replaced Wayne Goddard.
Goddard was player/assistant manager last season, when Mildenhall achieved their highest ever league finish - second in the Ridgeons Premier Division, and has now left the club.
Manager Trevor Munns said: "I decided I could not guarantee Wayne regular first team football, so it would make it difficult for him to continue in his role. I would like to thank Wayne for his efforts and also his part in our finishing as runners-up last season.
"I was delighted when Neal accepted the job. He is very experienced in the Ridgeons League and is highly regarded as a player. I believe he has a lot to offer in his new position and I am confident he will prove to be a very good appointment for Mildenhall Town".
The club also announced that Gareth Simpson will be the new first team coach and former international hurdler Matty Clements will be the fitness coach.
Munns said "Both Gareth and Matty are highly qualified coaches and were pleased to take on extra responsibilities. Both are keen to bring new fitness techniques and methods to the club".
Club chairman Martin Tuck said: "I am delighted Neal has joined the management team. He has such a great personality and I know that he is extremely well respected by everyone involved, not only at our club, but within the Ridgeons League as a whole. I am sure his playing experience at a high level of non-league football with Chelmsford will be invaluable in the future development of players at our club and consequently our team as a whole.
