THERE were few clear cut chances for either side in the opening 25 minutes but the game exploded into life just before half time thanks to a tremendous goal from Jordan Emms. Catching the ball sweetly on the half-volley Emms goal, scored from inside his own half, put Witchford on top and they sealed their advantage in the third quarter thanks to a header from man of the match Patrick Ryan.

STRETHAM secured a home win due to some fine defending from Edward Russell. Stretham broke the deadlock after a sluggish first-half courtesy of a fine strike from Harry Alexander. 10 minutes before time a corner came in from Alexander and Max Bovingdon cooly slotted the ball home to double the lead and ultimately seal the points.
Witchford Colts 6
A CALLUM Munden hat-trick steered Witchford to a comfortable win over Newmarket.
Witchford opened the scoring when Munden fired into the top corner following a move down the right wing. The home side added a second after a move down the left resulted in Ryan Pettit poking home.
Munden got the third following a goal mouth scramble and Kieron Reed quickly added a fourth as Newmarket. Munden completed his hat-trick with a smart finish having wrong footed the defence and keeper. As the waves of attack continued Joe Leyland fired in the sixth.
Haddenham Rovers Colts 3
Histon Hornets 1
ROVERS produced an outstanding display to defeat a previously unbeaten Histon team.
Histon held out until the 18th minute before Jake Alsop met Josh Lowe's corner with a brilliant bullet header into the top corner.
Histon were left reeling two minutes later when Joshua Akinwumi tore through the visitor's defence to rifle past the keeper.
The result was sealed with 15 minutes remaining when Akinwumi thumped home from five yards and although Histon pulled back a late goal Haddenham stood firm.
Chesterton Eagles 1
Ely Crusaders 5
MINUTES after the first whistle Max Wright opened the scoring for Crusaders and it wasn't long before Wright slotted home another.
Crusaders let Chesterton back into the game with one of their few attacks of the match. Ely turned the screw in the second half and dominated play with Chesterton rarely getting out of their own half. This culminated in Chris Lewis scoring two and sealing the win
Witchford Colts A 0
Newmarket B 5
A HARD game for the Witchford team leading to their first loss of the season. Matthew Loades, Ruairidh MacDonald and Nathan Francis all had good attempts at goal but didn't get past Newmarket's keeper. Some great defending by Daniel Chapman led to him being awarded Man of the Match.
Witchford Colts B 4
Sutton Rangers 0
WITCHFORD came out on top in a keenly contested match.
Solomon Grover got the first with a good strike inside the box. The second came after some good team work from the Colts with Nathan Ellis the provider for, Oliver Short to smash the ball home. Further goals came in the second half through Louis Green and an own goal.
WITCHFORD girls became the first Witchford team through to a final with this win. The breakthrough came when Georgia Day netted the rebound from her own shot. Sawtry equalised by latching onto a goal kick, catching the keeper unawares and then went ahead following a good solo run.
In the second half Katie Turner levelled the score with a fine run and, with minutes to go, latched onto a long ball and fired home to score the winner.
Littleport Town Colts 1
Eaton Socon Colts 1
PORT stretched their recent unbeaten record with a hard fought draw.
Port took the lead when Moses Adupa chased a lost cause and calmly finished. Eaton Socon had a couple of chances of their own but good keeping from Jamie Davison kept them out.
With around five minutes left Adupa was felled just outside the area but the referee waved play on and the keeper launched a long ball straight down the middle for the Eaton Socon striker to race on to and equalise.
Ely City 11
ELY got their best result of the season by thrashing Warboys in a one sided game. Ryan Ellwood lobbed the keeper to open the scoring followed by a Craig Emson volley with Martyn Linsay adding two before half time. After the break, Ryan Ellwood got his second and Frazer Jennings also got two. Lindsay then added four more to his name.
