Rugby and hockey at the Ely Outdoor club were among the first sports called off as they admitted defeat as early as Friday afternoon with both Ely and Soham following suit early Saturday morning after respective pitch inspections.

Ely Tigers had been due to host Thetford in a friendly while the Ely Men's Hockey Team were scheduled to host Peterborough. Ely City meanwhile, were set to travel to Tiptree with Soham also due on their travels at Sutton Coldfield.

Although Saturday saw prolonged hours of sunshine during the day it wasn't enough to coax any of the regions teams' into action as a ubiquitous covering of ice made pitches a danger-zone.
