RIDGEONS LEAGUE

PREMIER DIVISION

Wisbech Town 2 Mildenhall Town 3

LIAM Harrold tormented his former club on his return to Fenland Park with a goal and an assist as Mildenhall resisted a late fightback.

Harrold's spectacular overhead kick from six yards gave the visitors the lead in the second minute, and Andy Eady made it 2-0 after 20 minutes with a thumping header from a corner.

Minutes later, Craig Hammond converted Harrold's low cross to put the league leaders 3-0 up.

Matt Oswin struck early in the second half to give the hosts hope.

A superb Eady challenge denied Wisbech top scorer Liam Nimmo a chance before Ben Nower left the field for treatment after bravely denying Darren Jimson in the 70th minute.

The patched-up keeper then pulled off a stunning one-handed save to thwart Stuart Cobb but was beaten by a Luke Kennedy penalty five minutes from time.

But Mildenhall kept possession well in the closing stages to see out the win.

n Mildenhall play Lowestoft Town at home in the league on Saturday.
