VB TROPHIES LEAGUE CUP

QUARTER FINAL

Ely Park Rangers are out of the competition after squandering a two-goal lead in their Quarter Final clash with Ickleton.

They dominated the tie, but let their opponents off the hook and had to enter the lottery of a penalty decider after the match finished 2-2.

Gary Dewsbury missed the decisive spot-kick, leaving his side 5-4 adrift in the shoot-out.

LEAGUE MATCHES

Ely Park Rangers Reserves are virtually assured of the 2A championship after beating Bar Hill Reserves 5-0.

Steve Pollard volleyed home from the edge of the box to make it 1-0 at the interval, and further goals from Jamie Gayfer, Andrew Francis and man-of-the-match Brady Stone eventually put Bar Hill to the sword.

Q PR Ely were beaten 5-1 at Nationals in the same section, and short-handed Wicken Maids Head crashed 9-1 at Manor Park Rangers in Division 4A, with Chris Lam their consolation goalscorer.

West End House won 5-0 at Cambridge Cosmos Reserves with goals from Tony Ure, James Linney, Kevin Hills, Joe Featherstone and Liam Broker, whilst at Prince of Wales Newmarket visiting AFC Witchford came from two down to win by the odd goal in five.

Michael Ward pulled one back before half-time, and second half efforts from Jonathan Chase and new signing Jon Hobbs eventually saw them through 3-2.
