A King’s Ely senior student has qualified for a prestigious national contest.
Katie Cameron has qualified for the National Schools’ Equestrian Association’s (NSEA) eventers challenge championships.
Katie, 15, represented King’s Ely at the NSEA Arena eventing qualifying competition held at The Jays Equestrian Centre in Bury St Edmunds.
Katie and her horse, Call Me Kev, competed in both the 90cms and 1m classes.
They were placed second in both classes, which were made up of 64 and 30 competitors respectively.
This was enough to secure them places to compete in the NSEA eventers challenge championships being held at Hickstead in May.
The previous day, Katie and Call Me Kev also qualified for the British eventing jumping and style (JaS) arena eventing competition being held at Hartpury College later this month after they won both the 90cms and 1m classes.
Their success comes just a week after Katie and two other members of the King’s Ely Equestrian Team, Rebecca Everitt and Harriet Froud, qualified for the NSEA dressage county championships being held in April.
