Rugby A pupil at King’s Ely Junior has received an international England rugby cap after impressive performances for the East Midlands and Midlands youth setups.

Callum Hall, 12, was selected to represent the Independent Schools under 13 side at international level. He has recently returned from a very successful tour of Ireland as part of the team, playing three matches at outside half.

He has previously played for East Midlands and Midlands teams, after standing out at a trials event last year with other local prep schools. This has projected him into the limelight and grabbed the attention of several national coaches and scouts.

The head of King’s Ely Junior, Richard Whymark, said: “Callum’s passion for the game and his dedication to training have been justly rewarded. We are very proud of his success, which reflects his talent and total commitment to achieving his sporting ambitions.”

Callum captains the 1st XV side in King’s Ely Junior, proving to be the major contributor to the points tally in the side.
