CITY of Ely bowlers Sarah Seymour, Ellen Faulkner and Michelle Barlow helped the England indoor bowls team to victory at the British Womens Indoor International Series held in Belfast last weekend.
The England team beat off strong competition from Scotland in the decisive final game of the competition with the Ely trio playing their part to ensure victory.
The team, skipped by Faulkner, got off to a solid start in their first game as they drew 19 - 19 against Anna Mckenna's rink from Ireland. Upping their game for their second match-up however, Faulkner's rink cruised to an 18-14 win over Stella Oliver's rink from Wales.
In their final game the team were drawn against the top Scottish rink skipped by Margaret Letham and found themselves narrowly edged out 12-13 in a tightly contested match-up.
The loss was far from a disaster from the England team as a whole though, as impressive wins in three of the other five legs ensured that England eventually triumphed 111-97 overall.
