Ely Tigers dominate Newmarket after a slow start away from home
It took about ten minutes before the Tigers got on the scoreboard, Man of the match Luke Turner pounced on a failed clearance kick and ran it back under the posts for a converted try.
Newmarket fought back and gained a penalty which they slotted to bring the score to 7-3.
Afterwards, Ely gained a penalty in the opposition twenty-two, Ryan Clark quickly tapped and passed the ball to Joel Scott Paul who dotted down in the corner for an unconverted try.
In the second half the floodgates opened. Matt McCarthy went over for a brace one of which he ran the length of the pitch.
Turner ran in another try as well after a dominant display on the wing.
Scott Paul added two more to get a hat-trick and Jacob Muncey found space in the midfield to dot down under the posts.
Newmarket scored two converted tries to bring the score to 52-17.
