ELY golf starlet Emily Slater was crowned Lincolnshire Girls Champion this week, another title to boost her growing reputation.

Emily, 15, who plays off a handicap of two, won both the under 15 and under 18-year-old categories to become the Lincolnshire Girls Champion. Her win qualifies her for the national Champion of Champions Girls final to be held at Spalding Golf Club on September 17, where she will compete against county champions from across the UK.

Emily, who plays for Ely City Golf Club, has also been busy representing the Ladies Lincolnshire Golf Team at the Ladies County Week, held at The Nottinghamshire Golf and County Club. Earlier this week, the team enjoyed a good start to the tournament by beating Shropshire 9-0, Emily winning two of those matches.

The 15-year-old will head off around the country in the coming months as the golf season begins to pick up.
