Sawston took the lead with an early penalty, but Reece Hurst scored his first Tigers try after a good interchange of passes between Joel Scott-Paul and Gavin Ross.
Hard-working Chris Day added another try for Ely before the interval, and Scott-Paul wrapped up a 13-3 lead with a penalty in front of the posts.
Jez Latham went over the line to increase Ely's lead in the second half, and Scott-Paul converted to make it 20-3.
Ross and Jimmy Gilborn then added further well-worked tries to make the final score 30-3.
Lewis Jenkins, Dave Ballard and Ross were the pick of Ely's team.
