CHALLENGING weather conditions provided some very close racing at Roswell Pits on Saturday, with the Solo and Enterprise classes battling things out between them.

The Enterprise of John and Molly Wells took an early lead in the first race, with the Solos of Gary Ungless and Alan White hot on their heels.

The Wells boat made a mistake when passing a lapped boat in the closing stages however, and Ungless took advantage to claim the win with White back in third spot.

The wind was more consistent in the second race, and it kept the competitors closer together as a result.

In fact the three leaders were so close that they came out of the first mark in the reverse order of entry, which gave Hugh and Robbie Marshall the lead in their Enterprise ahead of Ungless.

The Solo man soon powered past the Marshalls again however, and he remained ahead of his rivals with another Enterprise - this time crewed by John Wells with his daughter Charlotte at the helm - back in third.
