ELY sailing club's Gary Ungless got his season off to a flying start last weekend as he secured a clean sweep of victories at the club's season opening races.

Ungless made the most of favourable conditions to secure wins in both the handicap and solo class races held on Roswell Waters. Club Commodore Niall Pearcey was left in Ungless' wake on both occasions as the latter took advantage of the conditions to make up the deficit.

There was also notable success for Phil Hardy in the laser class as he secured wins in both of his two races, edging out John Cant on both occasions. Junior club members were also in action on the day as they prepared for their Youth League Regatta starting on April 25.
