Ely’s Robbie comes good at major tournaments

Judo A successful few weeks for teenager Robbie Hayes saw him come away with gold and silver medals from two prestigious tournaments.

Robbie, 14, took a silver at the British Schools Judo Association Championships, held in Sheffield, and followed it up with a gold medal at the Independent Schools Judo Championships, held in High Wycombe, late last month.

Club mate at King’s Ely Judo Club, Noah Aldous, 12, was also in action at the British Schools championships, where he took home a fifth place.

Kings Judo Club practices on Friday evenings at the Morbey Hall, King’s Ely, from 5-30-7pm. Children from six and adults welcome.
