Personal bests fell as youngsters from Ely Runners turned out at the Anna’s Hope 5k Fun Run last weekend.
A group of seven of the clubs juniors travelled to Peterborough for the race which is part of the Great Eastern Half Run Marathon, and young talent Oliver Taylor recorded a new best time of 22 minutes and 15 seconds, beating his old time over that distance by seven seconds.
Also clocking a new fastest time was Holly MacFall, who managed 23 minutes and 29 seconds (previous PB 24:17), Gemma Bridges, who ran home in 23 minutes and 56 seconds (24:21), Lucy Thew (24:03, 24:55) and Megan Holland, who shaved over three minutes off her previous best (25:33, 29:23).
First to cross the line for Ely was Oscar Wolfe, whose time of 20 minutes and 17 seconds earned him a 28th place finish overall. Adam Smeeton was the next to finish, completing the challenge in 22 minutes and seven seconds to claim 62nd place.
