The King’s Ely Equestrian Team came seventh out of 27 teams at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
George Hearn, Ryan De Sousa, Adele Shaw and Emily Gredley represented the school as a team of four at the prestigious event, which took place on May 12 and is one of the largest in the UK.
Sue Cameron, manager of the King’s Ely Equestrian Team, said: “This was a huge event to compete at and our riders dealt with the pressure very well. “They were great representatives of the school and certainly did us proud.”
The team qualified for Royal Windsor in March after they came second in the 90cms class out of more than 40 riders, and clear rounds by both Emily and Adele meant that the team finished on four faults.
King’s Ely sixth form student Phoebe Plumb has also enjoyed equestrian success. She competed in the British Riding Club Area 7 Summer Dressage Qualifiers with her ex-racehorse, Transcend, in both the novice and elementary tests, and won both classes.
As a result, Phoebe qualified for the British Riding Club National Summer Championships, which are taking place in August.
