The ladies have been in amongst the top teams for much of the season and put themselves in with a shot at promotion in the final week with an important win over rivals Bourne.

The first-half was a frustrating affair for the home side as they struggled to make use of their possession and territorial advantage.

Strong defending from Cathey Gilmour, Emily Radcliffe, Fran Flack and Sam Carford

Ensured that Ely had a solid base from which to attack and they finally managed to break the deadlock early in the second-half as Annie Radcliffe fired home.

Dogged work in the centre of the field from duo Nicky Daish and Fiona Butler saw a host of late chances come Ely's way but they were unable to add to the score.
