ELY 3's vice-captain Karen Carter is relishing the opportunity to record her first win over local rivals Witchford when the teams face off next week.

Having never beaten Witchford before, Carter is hoping that her resurgent side can surprise the visitors, who sit just one place above them in Division 4 of the Cambs Netball League,

"It's going to be a really tough match as we've never beaten Witchford but we're out to try and win so we'll be attacking hard," she said.

When the two teams last met, back in October of last year, Witchford triumphed 28-21 but Carter believes Ely have made great strides since then, something she puts down to changed attitudes,

"Everyone brings something good to the team, we have some strong characters who work hard to keep everyone motivated and morale high on the court," she said.

A win for Ely could potentially take them above Witchford and into fourth place while a loss could see Cherry Hinton supersede them in fifth place.
