Football ELY City Football Club celebrated its top performers at an end-of-season awards evening held on Saturday.
Stand-out members from both the first team and reserve team were honoured for their efforts in 2012/13 with trophies at the club’s Unwin Ground home.
The first team player of the season was awarded to centre back Adam Murray, with Sean Greygoose picking up the reserve team accolade.
First team physio Vinne Scarrow was awarded the Doug Cranwell long service award, while retiring defender Ben Lawrence won the first team management award.
Chris Sterecki was runner up in the management award.
Players’ player of the year in the first team was Adam Murray, while striker Andrew Claydon, who bagged more than 20 goals in his debut season for Ely was runner up.
Simon Farrow was reserve team players’ player of the year, with Liam Bishop runner up.
Ely’s first team enjoyed a mixed season, finishing in 11th place in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division after retaining the Cambridgeshire Invitation Cup with a thumping 3-0 win over Cambridge City.
The reserve side meanwhile, fared somewhat worse as they finished last in the Kershaw Premier League and were relegated to BIS Senior A.
