CITY had at least 20 shots on goal in this one sided affair, but had to settle for a point. Jordan Miller, Jamie McCarthy, Dan Beavis, Will Law, Ryan Howell, Liam Heaps, Matt Waites and Codie Couzens all came close, but Jamie McCarthy was unluckiest of all when his piledriver was somehow finger-tipped away at full stretch by the Sawston keeper.
In reply, Sawston's solitary break of the first half resulted in a goal.
City struggled to break through a determined defence, but finally grabbed an equaliser when Matt Waites won a penalty, early in the second half, dusted himself down and smashed the spot kick in off the underside of the bar.
City should have gone on and won the game but bad luck in front of goal meant they had to settle for the draw.
Ely's man-of-the-match: Liam Heaps.
