ELY City boss Trevor Munns, has been hard at work over the Summer break readying the club what promises to be an exciting new season.

As well as making a number of changes to both managerial and playing staff, Munns has also been on the hunt for a new sponsor for the club to help them better compete with the teams in the Ridgeons League.

Munns real coup of the pre-season though, has been the announcement that Cambridge United will be playing their first pre-season friendly of the new season at Ely, with Munns hoping to draw a bumper crowd.

"We will have lots going on during the evening and we are hoping there will be a lot of people there to come and support the club, he said.

"We will be starting pre-season training on June 22, and I'm hoping that there will be a few new faces there to help push us on for the coming season.

"I have also been in talks with a company about the possibility of a sponsorship deal for the season and if it goes through it will be big news for the club."

Munns has also arranged a number of other high-profile pre-season friendlies for the club, with the visits of St Neot, Bury Town and Soham sure to wet the pallet of Robins' fans across the region.
