THE City of Ely 2nd XI got back to winning ways at the weekend as they picked up a one wicket victory over Burwell III.
Opting to put the visitors in to bat first, Ely bowled astutely, tormenting the Burwell line-up with a testing combination of line and length on what was a difficult track.
Kevin Felton took the lion's share of the spoils as his aggressive 10 over spell yielded 4-29 and helped to reduce Burwell to 115-7 at close of play.
Despite a disastrous start to their reply, Ely rallied and, led by J Sivier (36) they reached their total with some 11 overs to spare.
